Notes on Battery Disposal
In connection with the sale of batteries or the delivery of devices containing batteries, we are obliged to inform you of the following:
Batteries must not be disposed of in household waste.
You can either return used batteries, which we carry or have carried as new batteries in our range, to us at your own expense or return them free of charge to our shipping warehouse (shipping address). Alternatively, you can hand in the batteries at local collection points.
As an end user, you are legally obliged to return used batteries so that they can be recycled or disposed of properly.
Used batteries may contain harmful substances that can damage the environment or your health if not stored or disposed of properly. However, batteries also contain important raw materials such as iron, zinc, manganese, or nickel and can be recycled.
The symbols shown on the batteries have the following meanings:
The symbol of the crossed-out trash bin means that the battery must not be disposed of in household waste.
For batteries containing a certain amount of lead, cadmium, or mercury, the following additions under the crossed-out trash bin symbol indicate the respective harmful substances:
Pb = Battery contains more than 0.004% by weight of lead
Cd = Battery contains more than 0.002% by weight of cadmium
Hg = Battery contains more than 0.0005% by weight of mercury
Information on the costs contained in accordance with Article 56 paragraph 4 of the EU Battery Regulation (Regulation 2023/1542) can be found at the initiative “Batterie-Zurück.”
Please observe the above information.
